Airbus, the European aircraft manufacturer, has disclosed that U.S. engine maker Pratt & Whitney is experiencing difficulties in providing sufficient support to its fleet of passenger jets. According to Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury, Pratt & Whitney is struggling with the supply of spare parts and engines necessary to maintain Airbus planes. The company’s statement comes in the wake of India’s Go First filing for bankruptcy, which it attributed in part to issues with the durability of Pratt & Whitney’s GTF engines on its Airbus 320neo aircraft. While Faury refrained from commenting on the specific case, the revelation underscores the challenges faced by Pratt & Whitney in keeping up with the demands of the aviation industry.
